Lamar Jackson was one of the many members of the Ravens that landed on the COVID list last week, and some are questioning whether he’ll be available for Wednesday’s Week 12 game against the Steelers or Tuesday’s Week 13 against the Cowboys. Meanwhile, Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) was out for the Dolphins in Week 12 and might have to miss another game, as well. Here’s the latest on these two young quarterbacks and how their issues will impact our Week 13 fantasy QB rankings and potential waiver wire streamer targets.

Is Lamar Jackson playing this week?
Jackson tested positive for COVID in the lead up to the Ravens’ Week 12 game against the Steelers, and even with the game being moved back to Wednesday afternoon, Jackson will not be eligible to play in it. That said, he will be eligible to play in Tuesday night’s Week 13 game against Dallas if he is healthy enough.
As NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero explains, because the Ravens-Cowboys game was postponed from Thursday to Tuesday in Week 13 in wake of the Steelers-Ravens postponement in Week 12, Jackson will have a chance to come off the COVID list before that contest. Per Pelissero, the mandatory isolation for a player in 10 days after a positive test if asymptomatic and 10 days since the symptoms have been first reported if a player is symptomatic. Either way, that 10-day period will have passed by the time the Ravens play on Dec. 8 against the Cowboys.
While Jackson should be eligible, he’ll still need to be monitored just in case something changes. For now, his fantasy owners should be able to count on him playing.
WEEK 13 WAIVER WIRE: Top pickups
Tua Tagovailoa injury update
Tagovailoa (thumb) missed the Dolphins’ win over the Jets in Week 12, and it appears that he will be truly questionable for Week 13. As NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo stated on NFL Network before Sunday’s games kicked off, Tua is dealing with “swelling and weakness” in his thumb and could be facing a multi-week absence.
Given that Tagovailoa is the Dolphins’ quarterback of the future, they won’t rush him back into action, especially since Ryan Fitzpatrick has proven to be a capable fill-in and should be a solid QB streamer if he starts against the Bengals. The Dolphins can ride it out with Fitzpatrick, stay in the playoff race, and hope that Tua will be able to come back either to start at the close of the season or help key a playoff run.
Tagovailoa might still have a chance to play this Sunday, but his practice status will need to be watched closely. At this point, it seems more likely that he will sit this week and try to return in Week 14.
